Thai Nam Prik Pla (Thai Fresh Chili Sauce/Condiment)

Have I ever mentioned here on the blog how much I love Thai food?  Yes... I know... it's quit evident with all the Thai recipes I constantly make. One of the favorite Thai restaurants always had this condiment available for adding extra spice to their dishes.  I love it on a lot of other types of food too.  Heck, I'll put it over plain rice to give it a spicy kick.  It's super easy to make with a few ingredients so I  always have it around.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup sliced Thai Chilies
1/4 cup fish sauce
2 Tbs fresh lime juice
2 tsp brown sugar
sliced scallions (optional)

Directions:
Slice chilies (seed if less spice is desired).  Mix with all ingredients and serve with Thai dishes. Refrigerate up to 2 weeks.

Note:  Please be careful when handling spicy chilies.  Do not touch your eyes/face without washing your hands very well.

  5. I don't think so I had come across such a recipe before. In fact I don't remember eating a thai sauce called nam prik pla but here they have a similar condiment which my husband loves with fried rice. Thank you for sharing your recipe, can't wait to give it a go. =)

  6. I don't know that I could handle any of this stuff, even though it looks amazing. My poor wimpy mouth couldn't handle it. Hope you have a great week, Ramona.
